Rev. Dr. Veronice Miles serves as Associate Professor of Preaching at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC. Her research emphasis is hope as embodied theology, with attention to humanity’s inherent identity as imago Dei and our capacity for emulating God’s loving, just, and life-affirming presence on the earth. Her current project, under the working title Preaching an Embodied Theology of Hope, explores the power and potential of preaching to awaken individuals and communities to the voice of hope and nurture hope-filled action even in the most chaotic of times. Dr. Miles has contributed to various journals, commentaries, and books, including Feasting on the Word: Preaching the Revised Common Lectionary; Children, Youth and Spirituality in a Troubling World; Lectionary Homiletic; Teaching Theology and Religion; Homiletic; Ecumenical Trends; and The Encyclopedia of Christian Education.
