Article Submission Guidelines

Interested in writing for The Thread?

Before pitching or submitting an article, please familiarize yourself with the content of The Thread. Our audience consists of Christian leaders in congregations, ministry organizations, and schools, as well as people who have a general interest in theology and ministry. Because we strive for our content to achieve a balance that is highly informative and widely engaging, we are neither an academic journal nor a personal blog. Instead, we welcome articles that further our mission to educate, equip, and inspire theologically curious Christian leaders.

Please submit articles by email to as Word attachments and include your name, headshot photo, and a brief bio. Articles that are accepted for publication will be edited for length, grammar, and style. We like a single space after a sentence and are pro-Oxford comma. We determine the best article length by however long it takes to make a point well. We like a tight economy of words and are anti-rambling.

Please submit pitches to in the body of your email and include a brief summary of the idea and an approximate date of completion. Explain how you are well-suited to bring this idea to life.

The Thread will not reprint articles that have appeared elsewhere first, including print and online media. You may, however, repost articles once they have appeared on The Thread by notifying our editorial team, who will guide you through the simple process.

We will do our best to respond to all inquiries, but please be patient with us, as we are a small team. If you have not heard from us within three weeks, please assume that we are unable to use your idea or submission.

At this time, The Thread is not accepting audio or video submissions. We are also currently unable to print languages other than English without a concurrent English translation.

We look forward to receiving and reviewing your submission.
