Dr. Maria Dixon is Associate Professor at Southern Methodist University’s Meadows School of the Arts. She left corporate America in 1995 to begin her seminary education at The Candler School of Theology with an emphasis in Biblical studies and homiletics. She earned a Master of Divinity degree and a Master of Theology, then went on to complete her Ph.D. in organizational communication and religion from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Passionate about working to create strong communicators and strategies, Dr. Dixon focuses her research and professional consulting on donor and fundraising communication; strategic communication for non-profit and religious organizations; and strategic communication management. Her blog, “The View from DixonHall” is nationally distributed by Patheos.com and is often reprinted by the United Methodist Reporter and other secular media. She is a rabid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and Texas Ranger Baseball.
